Correlation of HRV Measures commonly used in Holistic Medicine
Im Jong-Ho

Abstract
Average, Standard deviation(SDNN), HRV-I (%), pNN50 (%), RMSSD, and SDSD are fundamental measures commonly used in the study of heart rate variation (HRV). These parameters are the leading indicators of the time domain HRV.
Integrated medicine needs an integrated approach to verify the effectiveness of the treatment. The body of the state is reflected in the ECG, EEG and EMG holistically. Therefore analysis of these signals can be used as an objective yardstick in CAM(Complementary and Alternative Medicine). The purpose of this study is comparison among the representative measures of HRV. The RRV tachogram was obtained from electrocardiogram(5 minutes, Lead ¥±). We can objectify similarities(correlation) between the measures by using the Moving window. The correlation between the standard deviation and pNN50 (%) were about -0.9 or more. And the correlation between the RMSSD and SDSD were also about 0.9 or more. One of both measures should be used only in HRV.
